Telecinco rethinks the production of fiction by advertising downturn

Apparently the audiovisual sector in Spanish has hit a financial rough patch. This has forced companies, like Telecinco, to make changes: review of schedules and production processes of series and feature films. Lucky for us this doesn’t effect the production of our favorite show Tierra de Lobos…for now anyway.

Here is an excerpt of the article

“The party is over”. The phrase, uttered by an officer of Mediaset Spain , reflects the state of the audiovisual sector, stifled by the economic crisis and plummeting advertising revenue in January (about 17% over the same month last year). In this context, the company has made a radical decision that directly affects the content industry: review of schedules and production processes of series and feature films.

Titles up continue, but other projects run worse luck

Series like El don de Alba or Tierra de Lobos will not stop recording because this would incur further cost.
